Step One | Step Two | Step Three | Step Four | Step Five | Step Six
Please note: these steps can only be completed if you have accepted and met the conditions of your offer of admission.
Before Administrative Enrolment can be carried out it is necessary to “Discover” and “Activate” your University of Stirling student computer account. This account provides access to the University Portal (internal website), computer network and WebCT (online learning environment). You can “Discover” your Student Computer Account now at https://portal.stir.ac.uk/discovery.
If you do not have access to the internet or decide, for whatever reason, to delay carrying out this step it is possible to perform the “Account Discovery” process when you arrive on campus. You will need to use the username ‘discover’ and password ‘discover’ ensuring that the domain name is set as ‘students’ to be able to access “Account Discovery”.
The following web page will give you a link to start the discovery process and also links to instruction sheets for doing account discovery either on or off campus: http://www.is.stir.ac.uk/itsupport/accounts/networkaccount-student.php
If you forget your password having "Discovered" your computer account, please contact the Information Centre. After completing a security check they will reset your account and provide information on what to do next.
My tuition fees are being paid by a sponsor other than SAAS, e.g. my employer is paying my fees.
To notify the University of who is paying your fees please complete the online sponsor form https://portal.stir.ac.uk/student/tuitionfees/sponsor-form.jsp. Your sponsor will then be invoiced in due course. Please note that there will be a delay of 24 hours (or longer at the weekend) to update the supplied information and you will not be able to complete Administrative Enrolment until these updates have been completed.
Please note that sponsorship by family or friends is regarded as self-funding.
My tuition fees are being paid on my behalf by the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS).
You should mark this accordingly and continue, YOU DO NOT NEED TO COMPLETE THE ONLINE SPONSOR FORM
In order to enrol as a student of the University, you must complete Administrative Enrolment. Administrative Enrolment is essential and this online process opens on the Wednesday 1st February 2012.
To complete the enrolment process, you should log onto the student portal. Click on the link for Administrative Enrolment - Enrol Now - and follow the step by step instructions. At the start of the enrolment process you will be asked to confirm some information we hold about you, or enter this information if it was not supplied in your application.
You will then be presented with the option of paying your tuition fees online, if we do not already hold your sponsor information. If you are being sponsored you can supply this information as part of online enrolment, but this will delay your enrolment by 24 hours (or longer at the weekend) and you will not be able to complete the process until these updates have been completed.
Once you have completed the tuition fees page please click the continue button to complete the enrolment process. Once completed an email will be sent to your student email account to confirm your enrolment status.
